This Pakistani woman wants to work in IPL, ICC presenter was made from make-up artist

New Delhi: Pakistan’s well-known sports presenter Zainab Abbas said that she would love to work in the Indian Premier League (IPL) if given a chance. Talking to a YouTube channel, Zainab said that working relations between India and Pakistan should be restored. “I don’t think politics should dominate the working relationship between India and Pakistan, especially in sports,” he said. “Sports bridges the gap between us. There should be no hindrance in sports activities between the two countries. We interact only in global events like ICC tournaments or Asia Cup. We need to keep politics out of it.”

When asked about his desire to work in IPL, he said that it would be great. He said- I believe that work should be taken as work. If I get a chance, I will definitely go and work in IPL. I feel there should be no place for hatred and negativity. I hope that the working relationship between the two countries will resume. India should come here and we will go there to play cricket.” Zainab has worked as a presenter for several ICC tournaments. He has also represented as a presenter in various leagues.

Talking about IPL, Pakistani players participated in the inaugural season of IPL in 2008 only. Since then India has banished Pakistani players from its league. Both the countries have also not played any bilateral match since 2012-13. They only play against each other in ICC tournaments and Asia Cup.

Who is Zainab Abbas?

The 35 year old anchor and sports analyst Zainab Abbas has become a prominent face of cricket. He was selected by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as the ICC presenter at the 2019 World Cup. Abbas had seen his father, Nasir Abbas, play international cricket for the country. He studied in the same school with former Pakistan captain Rameez Raja. His mother Andalib Abbas is a well-known face in the politics of Pakistan. She is a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Zainab had revealed in an interview that she had given an interview to a local news channel in 2015 to become a cricket presenter. Earlier she was working as a makeup artist.
