If the demands are not accepted till June 15, we will hold a big protest.
He said that if the charge sheet in the case is not filed by June 15 as per the government’s assurance, the wrestlers will stage a bigger protest. Bajrang said- The father of the minor wrestler has said that there was a lot of pressure on him from all sides. The media did not show this part..only showed that the statement has been withdrawn but did not give the reason. He said – If people like Brij Bhushan roam outside, they will definitely put pressure. fake news being spread
He said- only her family members can give complete information about whether the girl is a minor or not. The sad part is that fake news is being spread that wrestlers are in collusion with ministers… We have met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. If necessary, we will protest after June 15. No wrestler will resume his official duty after starting our protest.
police trying to scare girls
Bajrang alleged that the police took a female wrestler to Brij Bhushan’s house as part of their investigation. Poonia said- It seems like the police is trying to scare the girls. They took the female wrestler to Brij Bhushan’s house for examination. When the wrestler asked, the police said that there was no one inside. Later we came to know that Brijbhushan was at home. This should not have happened. This is a matter of concern for us as well. The Delhi Police had said on Friday that the woman wrestler was taken to the Wrestling Federation of India office.
Brijbhushan and aide will not become WFI members
Referring to the panchayat held in Sonepat on Saturday, Poonia said that it was called by the wrestlers. He said- The government has assured us that the charge sheet will be filed before June 15. While Brij Bhushan and his associates will not become members of WFI.
Elections will be held till June 30
Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had said on Thursday that talks with the protesting wrestlers were positive and decisions were taken on various demands. He said- There was a very positive discussion with the agitating wrestlers. All the issues that came from his side were seriously discussed. We have said that the charge sheet will be filed by June 15 and the Wrestling Federation of India elections will be held by June 30. An Internal Complaints Committee for sportspersons will be constituted and a woman sportsperson or an official will be made its chairperson. He said that the names of two coaches have also been proposed by the wrestlers for the adhoc committee of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). They will be made its members.
Thakur said that the wrestlers have given a message that they will inform their supporters about the conversation. He said- We also want the players to return to the mat soon and participate in further competitions. Delhi Police is probing allegations of sexual harassment after an FIR was registered against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
