New Delhi: The thrill of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will begin on Saturday evening. The first match will be between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians at DY Patil Stadium. While Gujarat Giants will be captained by Beth Mooney, Harmanpreet Kaur will be seen leading Mumbai Indians. The final of the WPL to be held for a total of 5 teams will be held on 26 March. In such a situation, the big question is that if there is a tie between two teams in the points table, then which team will make it to the finals, let us knowβ¦
Team with more wickets will be on top
If more than two teams get the same number of points in the top three places, the team with the most wins in the league stage will be placed higher. If points are tied, the team with the higher net run rate will be placed higher. If the NRR is also equal then the team with more wickets will be placed higher.

This is how the winner will be decided
But what if a match or even the final itself ends in a tie? If the score remains equal in a match, then a super over will be played. If the Super Over also ends in a tie, subsequent Super Overs are played until there is a winner. In this case the boundaries will not be counted. If it is not possible to play or complete the Super Over, the match will be tied and both teams will be awarded one point each. If a Super Over is not possible in the Eliminator or the Final, the team that topped the table after the round-robin stage would be declared the winner.

What if rain affects the match?
It doesn’t usually rain in Mumbai in March, but if it does, both teams will have to bat at least five overs for a result. Normal DLS rules will apply for this.
