West Bengal: In West Bengal, once again the incident of stone pelting on Vande Bharat Express train has come to the fore. The incident is being reported from Farakka in Murshidabad late Saturday evening. The window panes of a coach of the high speed train were broken in the stone pelting incident. On the other hand, after the incident, the Railways has ordered an inquiry.

Eastern Railway said in a statement that an incident of stone pelting on the Vande Bharat Express train from West Bengal has been reported, in which the window panes of a coach of the high-speed train were damaged. Eastern Railway CPRO Kaushik Mitra said that this is a very unfortunate incident. An inquiry has been ordered.

In visuals accessed by news agency ANI, window panes of a high-speed train are seen damaged after stones were allegedly thrown at the train near Howrah (West Bengal) station.

In January, there was stone pelting on Vande Bharat in Darjeeling.

In January 2023, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) informed that two coaches were pelted with stones near Phansidewa area of ​​Darjeeling district. The glasses of two windows of the Vande Bharat Express train were damaged after the stone pelting. Windows of coaches C3 and C6 of Vande Bharat Express were found damaged due to stone pelting.

Prior to Darjeeling, in January itself, stones were pelted on the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express, as a result of which the window panes of a coach of the express were broken.
