Bengal cow smuggling case: TMC leader Anubrata’s accountant Manish Kothari arrested, Sukanya to appear before ED tomorrow

West Bengal Cattle Smuggling Case: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken major action on Tuesday in the case of Bengal cattle smuggling. After about 9 hours of questioning, the ED arrested the main accused Manish Kothari, accountant of TMC leader Anubrata Mandal. Anubrata is already in jail.

ED sources say that many discrepancies were found in Manish’s statement. He is hiding information. Not cooperating in the investigation either. Manish will be produced in the court on Wednesday. During this, the ED can also seek Manish’s remand from the court.

The agency had also inquired in Birbhum

Anubrata Mandal’s accountant Manish Kothari was called by the ED to Delhi on Tuesday for questioning in the cow smuggling case. This is not the first time that Manish has faced the probe agency. In Birbhum too, the agency has interrogated Manish.

Manish and Anubrata come face to face

Manish was arrested in the evening after being questioned for about nine and a half hours on Tuesday. The intelligence officers suspect that Manish is trying to hide information. The sources also said that Manish and Anubrata were questioned face-to-face. Earlier, the investigators recorded Anubrata and heard Manish’s statement.

Manish made black money white

The ED alleges that Manish has information about benami properties of Anubrata and his daughter Sukanya. Manish has converted many black assets into white. Ever since being summoned by the ED, there was apprehension that Manish might be arrested. On Wednesday, Anubrata’s daughter Sukanya has been called by the ED to record her statement.
