Weather Update: There is a possibility of rain in many parts of India in the coming few days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers over East India during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, rain and thundershowers have been predicted over the western Himalayan region till March 14. Rain is expected over southern parts of India from March 15 to 17.
The trough in westerly winds will now extend from north Bihar to south interior Karnataka over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Telangana and north interior Karnataka in mid-tropospheric levels. Due to the formation of such weather, scattered light rain with thunder, lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) are very likely over West Bengal and Sikkim and Jharkhand. Similar weather conditions will continue over West Assam, Odisha and Bihar.
Under the influence of this weather system, scattered rain and thundershowers are very likely over the western Himalayan region till March 15 and over Rajasthan on March 13 and 14.
It will rain, weather will deteriorate
The MeT department in its press release said, ‘Lightning accompanied by hailstorm and rain in many areas very likely in Uttarakhand on 13th and 14th and in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on 12th and 13th. There is a possibility of lightning. The weather will worsen in Himachal Pradesh on 13th and 14th and Rajasthan on 13th March.
Between March 13 and 18, the weather will deteriorate over the central, eastern and southern parts of the country. Mercury may fall in the plains of North India. Apart from this, talking about the capital Delhi, there is a possibility of rain in the next week. A fresh Western Disturbance affecting the Western Himalayan region next week may bring rains to Delhi as well. IMD’s forecast indicates the possibility of rain from March 14 to 16. The sky will be cloudy next week.
