Trafficked Antiquities: America fulfilled the promise made to PM Modi within a month on Monday. Idols and artefacts of Gods and Goddesses that reached America after being smuggled have been handed over to India. For this, a ceremony was organized at the Indian Consulate in New York. During this, 105 antiquities were returned. These antiquities will soon be brought to India.
About 50 artifacts are associated with Hinduism, Jainism and Islam. The rest are of cultural importance. Ambassador of India Taranjit Singh Sandhu said that for the people of India these are not just pieces of art but part of their living heritage and culture.

At the ceremony for the return of the antiquities, Indian Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu thanked the US side, especially Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, and his Anti-Smuggling Unit and Homeland Security Investigative Team for their excellent cooperation and support.
Taranjit Singh Sandhu said that for the people of India, these are not just pieces of art but part of their living heritage and culture.
