PACS accepted across the country
Shah said that the rules and regulations of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) differed across the country. In order to bring uniformity in this, the Ministry of Cooperation has prepared all the bye-laws of PACS and sent them to all the states and union territories for consultation. 26 states and union territories have accepted it.
He told that after September, 85% PACS of the country will run on the same system. At present there are 85,000 PACS in the country. We have set a target that every village in the country will have a PACS in the next 3 years. This would mean more than 3 lakh PACS in the country.
