Union Cabinet: 157 new government nursing colleges will be opened in the country, know by when they will be ready?

Union Cabinet: The Modi government at the center is going to open 157 new government nursing colleges in the country. Its approval was given in the meeting of the Union Cabinet on Wednesday. These nursing colleges will be opened in the districts where there are medical colleges. Apart from this, the cabinet has approved the Medical Device Policy 2023 for the medical device sector. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that the demand for medical equipment has increased in the country. This new policy will greatly benefit this sector.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that the Union Cabinet has approved setting up of 157 new Government Medical Nursing Colleges at a cost of Rs 1570 crore. Where there are medical colleges, a nursing college will be set up with the assistance of Rs 10 crore. Nursing colleges will come up in the next 24 months.

15,700 new nursing students will be available every year

The minister said that this decision would result in about 15,700 new nursing graduates every year. It also aims to provide quality, affordable and equitable nursing education. He also informed that the cabinet has approved the policy for the medical devices sector.
