Uganda Terror Attack:Terrorists affiliated with the Islamic State group (ISIS) attacked a school in the African country of Uganda. During this, 26 people are reported to have died. Most of the dead are students. While the condition of 8 people remains critical. 6 students are missing. It is feared that these students have been kidnapped. Police say the attack was carried out by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), linked to ISIS.

26 dead bodies recovered so far

This whole matter is of Lubirira Secondary School in Mpondwe in Western Uganda. Ugandan police said that the Lubirira Secondary School in Mpondwe, located about 2 kilometers from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) border, was attacked by ADF rebels on Friday night. The terrorists burnt down the hostel and looted a food store. So far 26 bodies have been recovered from the school. There are 8 injured, who have been admitted to Bawera Hospital.

So far the police have not disclosed how many students have died. According to the police, soldiers and police chased the terrorists after the attack, but the terrorists managed to escape towards the Virunga National Park. Police said that we express our deepest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones.

80 students were murdered in 1998

In June 1998, an ADF attack on the Kichwamba Technical Institute near the border with the DRC killed 80 students. The students were burnt to death in the hostel. More than 100 students were abducted.

The ADF was created in eastern Uganda in the 1990s. It is alleged that Muslims were persecuted for a long time. After this some youths took up arms against the then President Yoweri Museveni. After being defeated by the Uganda Army in 2001, the ADF moved to North Kivu Province in the DRC. ADF rebels have been operating from inside the DRC for the past two decades.
