Taliban Decree: Afghanistan’s Taliban has once again issued a decree banning some of the remaining avenues for women’s employment. The Taliban has ordered the closure of beauty salons run by women. According to Bloomberg, the Ministry of Vice and Virtue said that all beauty salons run by women in Kabul and other provinces should be banned immediately and follow our order.
It has been said in a warning tone that the violators will face legal action. Explain that the United Nations has repeatedly condemned the sanctions regarding Taliban decrees. The United Nations said such rules against women made it nearly impossible for the international community to recognize the Taliban government.
Ban on women for studying above sixth, going to gym, going to park
Let us tell you that by issuing a Taliban decree earlier, girls have been prevented from getting education above the sixth grade. Apart from this, a ban has been imposed on women working in the government or private sector, going to parks and using gyms. At the moment, the only jobs women can do in Afghanistan are working as nurses and doctors in hospitals.
Jamila Afghan, an Afghan women’s rights activist who fled Afghanistan and now lives in Turkey, said that the Taliban do not treat women as human beings but as objects of ownership and exploitation. Thousands of make-up artists will be affected and hundreds of cosmetic shops across the country will be shut after the latest ban, he added.
Makeup artist said – what can we do?
Makeup artist Rehan Mubariz told TOLO News that the men here are unemployed. When men cannot take care of their families, women are forced to work in beauty salons to earn a living. What can we do if we are banned from working there too?
Another woman said that if the men (of the family) have jobs, we will not step out of the house. But, what can we do with the daily restrictions? You want us to die? Another woman said that the government should make a framework for this. The framework should be such that neither Islam nor the country is harmed.
