Somalia plane crash landing: A major incident took place in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. A small plane skidded off the runway while landing at Aden Ade International Airport. After this, the plane collided with the fence while dragging for a long distance. In this accident, many pieces of the wings of the aircraft were broken. However all the passengers are safe. Pilot did not give any emergency message
According to the Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA), there were 30 passengers and four crew members on board the plane operated by Halla Airlines. Before the accident, the pilot had not indicated any emergency nor had given any information to the control room. Due to this experts are surprised. They are trying to understand the cause of the accident.
Somali Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Ferdoussa Osman Egal said two people were injured in the accident. As the investigation progresses, the authorities are digging into every aspect of the incident. A spokesperson for Halla Airlines expressed its commitment to cooperate with the investigation. The exact cause of the accident would be known after examination of the cockpit voice recorder and black box, the spokesperson said.
Such an accident happened in 2022 as well
In July 2022 also a plane crashed at the same airport. There are many similarities between the accident then and now. All 30 passengers were safe in the plane crash a year ago. The plane overturned during landing.
According to officials, Mogadishu airport is very busy. More than 150 domestic and international aircraft land and take off from here every day.
