SNOOPGATE: Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia gave his first reaction after the approval of the CBI probe by the Union Home Ministry in the espionage case. He claimed to have been falsely accused by rivals. The Deputy CM said that more charges would be leveled against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

The Deputy CM of Delhi tweeted that creating false cases against his rivals is a sign of a weak and cowardly person. As Aam Aadmi Party progresses, many more cases will be filed against us. Let us tell you that on Wednesday, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has given approval against prosecution under the Prevention of Corruption Act in the Feedback Unit (FBU) snooping case in Delhi.

Manish Sisodia will be prosecuted in espionage case

MHA approves prosecution of Sisodia in snooping case. The action comes after Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena approved the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) request for prosecution sanction and sent it to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Feedback Unit (FBU) was set up by the Delhi government in 2015 to investigate alleged corruption. The CBI had sought permission to register an FIR against Sisodia, who heads the vigilance department of the Delhi government.

The espionage unit was said to be run and managed by close aides and advisors of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who reported directly to him, without any legislative or judicial oversight. The case also pertains to illegal and unaccounted expenditure in the name of Secret Service funds allocated to the FBU.
