Ingredients for Sev Tomato Curry
Gram flour – 1 cup, Tomato – 4 (finely chopped), Oil – 3 tbsp, Black mustard seeds – ½ tsp, Cumin – ½ tsp, Asafoetida – ½ pinch, Turmeric powder – ½ tsp, Green chili – 2 (finely chopped), Ginger – 1 inch (grated), Coriander powder – 1 tsp, Red chili powder – 1 tsp, Garam masala – ¼ tsp, Salt – 1 tsp, Coriander leaves – for garnishing Oil – for frying
To make sev tomato curry, first of all you have to make sev. For this, take 1 cup gram flour, ¼ tsp salt and 1 tsp oil in a bowl and mix them all well.
Along with this, knead a soft dough by adding little water to it. After this, heat oil in a pan to fry the sev.
After this, when the oil becomes hot, put a little flour in it and check its temperature. If it comes up after frying the dough, it means that the oil is sufficiently hot to fry the sev.
After this, make sev in the pan by pressing it with hand. After this, fry it till it turns golden brown. After this, put 2-3 tablespoons of oil in a pan and heat it.
Also add ½ tsp black mustard seeds, ½ tsp cumin and fry it. When the cumin is lightly roasted, add ½ pinch asafoetida, ½ tsp turmeric powder, 2 green chilies, 1 inch ginger and fry it lightly on medium flame.
Along with this, add 4 chopped tomatoes, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp red chili powder and ¾ tsp salt and cook till the tomatoes become soft.
After this, mash the tomato lightly and boil it by adding 1 cup of water. Then when it starts boiling, add 1 cup sev, ¼ tsp garam masala and some green coriander, mix and cover and let it cook.
After that take it out in a bowl and eat it with roti, paratha or rice.
