Biggest Question, 18 May 2023: Hello I am Sandeep Chowdhary. Today in the biggest question, I am going to talk about the politics of backward classes. Siddaramaiah is going to be the next Chief Minister in Karnataka. But there is a need to hold a strategy in the midst of all this. Siddaramaiah comes from Kurba Samaj i.e. backward class. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is a Dalit. Congress on its own has government in four states. Out of which the CMs of three states are from backward classes. Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel are from backward classes. So, does the Congress seem to be following the path of Mandal as well? Is an ideological similarity clearly visible in this with the satraps of the rest of the opposition? But here only talking about the opposition will be half-baked talk.
Since the 90s, whenever the name of Mandal is taken, the word Kamandal is also associated with it. Kamandal means BJP. Kamandal collapsed in the Karnataka elections. Now BJP is not just a party of Kamandal. Narendra Modi, the most charismatic face of BJP, is from backward class. From 2013 itself, he started underlining this. Due to this, BJP made a big dent in the poor and backward. The BJP has backed away from the caste census as well. So it will be interesting to see which way politics will turn. Will caste become a big issue in 2024 elections? See the big debate…
