Dima Nova sang the song ‘Aqua Disco’ which was often sung in protest against Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine and became so popular that the protests were called ‘Aqua Disco Party’. Russian news website PeopleTalk reported that Dima Nova fell through ice and drowned while crossing Russia’s Volga River in the Yaroslavl region. The report said that Dima Nova was with his brother Roma and two friends at the time of the accident.
