Tripura Assembly: The assembly session began in Tripura on Friday. But the first day was marred by uproar. During the session, there was a ruckus between the MLAs of BJP and Tipra Motha Party. The MLAs of the opposition parties reached the Well of the House raising slogans. The legislators formed a human chain. During this, there was a push and a demonstration by climbing on the table.
In fact, Leader of Opposition Animesh Debbarma questioned the issue of watching porn film by Jadab Lal Nath, BJP MLA from Tripura Bagbasa Assembly. The Speaker of the House asked to talk to them after some other important issues, but the MLAs of the opposition parties started creating ruckus and slogans. 5 MLAs were suspended from the House. However, his suspension was revoked later in the day.

Opposition leaders were demanding action against BJP MLA
Minutes after the budget session began, opposition members belonging to Tipra Motha Party (TMP), CPI-M and Congress raised slogans demanding action against BJP MLA Jadab Lal Debnath.
Leader of the Opposition Animesh Debbarma moved an adjournment motion to discuss the BJP MLA controversy, which was rejected by the Speaker. After this the protest started. The members started raising slogans when state Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy had just started presenting the annual budget for 2023-24.

A ruckus was witnessed in the Assembly as MLAs jumped into the well in a chain and some even went on the tables. Amid the uproar, Assembly Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen announced the suspension of five MLAs – Sudip Roy Barman (Congress), Nayan Sarkar (CPI-M) and Brisketu Debbarma, Nandita Reang and Ranjit Debbarma (TMP).
Later, all the opposition members staged a walkout protesting the Speaker’s decision and demanding disciplinary action against Debnath.
Is this the reason for the protest?
A video of Debnath had surfaced. In which he was seen watching pornographic videos. The 55-year-old leader, who is also the secretary of the Tripura state unit of the BJP, said when he received a call, a site opened automatically and he closed it immediately.
