BD Mishra becomes LG of Ladakh, Justice N Koteshwar Singh administers oath of office at Leh Rajnivas

Ladakh: (R) Brigadier BD Mishra was sworn in as the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh on Sunday. Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court N Kotiswar Singh administered the oath of office to Mishra at the Raj Niwas in Leh.

According to news agency ANI, Justice Tashi Rabstan and Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal were also present at the ceremony. After the program BD Mishra was given guard of honor by Ladakh Police.

Retired as Brigadier in Indian Army

BD Mishra is a former Brigadier in the Indian Army. He has also been a former commander of the Counter Hijack Force of the National Security Guard (NSG). He is also known as Black Cat Commando.

According to ANI, Mishra retired from the Army on July 31, 1995, after an illustrious career of over 33 years. He took over as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh on 3 October 2017.

Earlier, he was on the post of Governor of Arunachal

President Draupadi Murmu on February 12 appointed BD Mishra, 83, as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh after accepting the resignation of Radha Krishnan Mathur.

Please tell that BD Mishra was earlier the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh. He is the second LG of Ladakh after Mathur, who served for three years from 31 October 2019 to 11 February 2023.
