Priyanka said – justice should be done

Congress leader and Rahul Gandhi’s sister Priyanka Gandhi said, “It is very sad to see the tears of women sportspersons who have brought laurels to the country and their families with their hard work and dedication. They should be heard and they should get justice.”

Arrogance has hit the mind of BJP, Kejriwal said

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also hit out at the BJP over the scuffle between the wrestlers and the police. Kejriwal said that such misbehavior with the champion players of the country? It is very sad and shameful. Arrogance has hit the mind of the BJP. These people want to run the whole system with hooliganism. They have made a mockery of the entire system.” Kejriwal appealed to the people to oust the BJP from power.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee came out in support of the women wrestlers and said, “I am definitely standing with our wrestlers as a human being.” He said that it is very shameful to hurt the honor of our daughters in this way. India stands with its daughters and I as a human being definitely stand with our wrestlers.

You can attack them but cannot break their spirits. The fight is right and the fight will go on. Don’t you dare hurt our wrestlers, the country is watching their tears and the country will not forgive you.

Why are the wrestlers protesting?

Indian wrestlers, including Olympic winners, are protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Wrestlers have accused Boxing Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Singh of sexual harassment. A minor wrestler is also included in the victims. Wrestlers demand that Brij Bhushan Singh be arrested and removed from the post of WFI President.
