Maharashtra Politics: Former Union minister Praful Patel on Wednesday took a jibe at the June meeting of opposition parties in Patna. He said that I was also present in the meeting along with Sharad Pawar. I was laughing at the meeting of opposition parties. He said that in the meeting of opposition unity held in Patna, there was only one Lok Sabha MP from seven of the 17 opposition parties. There was a party which did not have a single MP.
Please inform that Praful Patel was speaking at the meeting of Nationalist Congress Party called by Ajit Pawar faction at Mumbai Education Trust Bandra. Praful said that Ajit Pawar has taken the decision to join NDA for the country and our party and not for personal gain.
Patel asked- What is the objection to anyone going to our NDA?
Patel had attended a meeting of opposition parties in Patna on June 23 along with Sharad Pawar. He was a close aide of former Union minister Sharad Pawar before he switched sides. He said that some people are raising questions on joining the NDA, but parties like PDP and National Conference have been with the BJP, so what is the objection to anyone joining our NDA?
The former Union Minister said that when we can accept the ideology of Shiv Sena, then what is the objection in going with BJP? We have joined this alliance as an independent entity. Mehbooba Mufti and Farooq Abdullah went with the BJP in J&K and are now part of the joint.
Sharad Pawar faction also held meeting at YB Chavan Auditorium in Mumbai
Sharad Pawar-led NCP holds a meeting of its members at YB Chavan Auditorium in Bandra, Mumbai, while Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar holds a meeting with NCP MPs, MLAs, MLCs, district heads and state representatives at the Mumbai Education Trust (MET) Did.
Praful Patel taunted the statements of opposition parties that bring change
He scoffed at the opposition parties’ claim of bringing change. Said that those parties which do not have one MP or even a single MP, said that they will bring change…. Praful Patel, a Rajya Sabha MP, has been a close aide of Pawar and was appointed working president of the NCP last month. He was a minister in the Congress-led UPA government along with Pawar.
A crisis has arisen in the Nationalist Congress Party after Ajit Pawar switched sides on Sunday and joined the Eknath Shinde-BJP government as Deputy Chief Minister. Besides Ajit Pawar, Chhagan Bhujbal, Dilip Patil, Hasan Mushrif, Dhananjay Mundo, Dharmaraobaba Atram, Aditi Tatkare, Sanjay Bansode and Anil Patil joined the Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis Maharashtra government as ministers on Sunday.
