The villagers have taken a collective decision that they will not celebrate Eid. Only Namaz will be read. The reason is the martyrdom of five soldiers of Rashtriya Rifles. The truck which was attacked by the terrorists was carrying fruits and other items for Iftar party. On Thursday evening, the Rashtriya Rifles had organized an Iftar party for the villagers.

Mukhtiyaz Khan, sarpanch of Sangiot panchayat, was also among those invited for the iftar. Talking to Indian Express, he told that five of our soldiers were martyred. Would you have an iftar party in such a situation? He told that as soon as we got information about the terrorist attack, there was gloom in the village. He said that the villagers are not celebrating Eid on Saturday, they will only offer namaz.

Terrorists fired 32 rounds, blew up the fuel tank

The army truck had reached Bhatadudiyan and Totagali near Bhimber Gali on the Poonch-Jammu National Highway at around 3 pm when the terrorists ambushed it. This attack was done from all sides. According to reports, the terrorists had fired around 32 rounds. After this the fuel tank was blown up. Due to which the truck caught fire. After this, five jawans were martyred, while one jawan was injured.

Farooq Abdullah said – innocents should not be caught

Search operation is going on through MI helicopter, drone and sniffer dog in the dense forest area of ​​Bata Doria. On Friday, 12 people were detained for questioning. The detained people are being interrogated at various levels by the security forces to ascertain the identity of the terrorists, the officials said. It is being told that the terrorists have been active in this year for one year and sniper is also included in them.

At the same time, NC leader and former CM Farooq Abdullah said that innocents should not be caught in the action that has started in Poonch. He should be taken care of.

NIA camped in Poonch

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh along with Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh were camping in neighboring Rajouri district to oversee the investigation. A National Investigation Agency (NIA) team headed by a Deputy Inspector General rank officer was also present.

The dead body of Havildar Mandeep Singh was brought to the village

Havildar Mandeep Singh, L/NK Kulwant Singh, Constable Harkishan Singh and Constable Sevak Singh from Punjab were martyred in the Poonch attack, besides L/NK Debasish Biswal from Orissa. The dead bodies of the jawans have been brought to their native villages on Saturday. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the villages of soldiers. The mortal remains of Havildar Mandeep Singh, who died in a terrorist attack on an army vehicle in Poonch, was brought to his native village in Ludhiana.
