At the same time, the Ministry of Defense on Thursday approved the plan to buy 26 Rafale fighter aircraft and 3 Scorpene submarines for the Indian Navy from France. Defense officials said the proposals were approved at a meeting of the Defense Acquisition Council (DAC), which was attended by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan and chiefs and senior officers of the three services.

PM Modi will interact with NRIs, then attend dinner
PM Modi will address the diaspora at La CN Musicale in Paris on Thursday. This program will be organized by the Indian Embassy and the Ministry of Culture. After this, PM Modi will attend dinner at the LC Palace, the official home of President Emmanuel Macron. During this, there will be bilateral talks between the two leaders.
India-France strategic partnership completes 25 years
This visit of PM Modi is taking place at a time when the Indo-French strategic partnership is completing 25 years. Before leaving for France, PM Modi said that he would hold wide-ranging discussions with the French President on taking the long standing and partnership forward.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of our strategic partnership. Rooted in deep trust and commitment, our two countries cooperate in defence, space, civil nuclear, trade, investment, education, culture. PM Modi said in a statement that we also work together on regional and global issues.
