New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate as the chief guest in the National Day Parade of France. Along with this, preparations are being made to send an Indian military contingent including Indian fighter aircraft in this parade.
According to a report in news agency ANI, the French traditional military parade is held in Paris during Bastille Day on July 14. The visit will mark the 25th anniversary of the strategic partnership between France and India.
French-Indian Rafale will be included in the parade
An Indian defense officials told ANI that the Indian military contingent will consist of a marching contingent. Also the Indian Air Force is deploying its fighter jets to participate in the flypast. The French Air Force is planning to parade its Rafale fighter jets which are also part of the Indian Air Force.
The President of France attended the 2016 Republic Day parade
The report said that India can send its aircraft from the Jaguar fleet, which has been designed by France. Significant numbers joined the Indian Air Force in the 1980s. In the year 2016, when French President Francois Hollande came to India for the Republic Day parade, a contingent was also sent by the French Army.
French army team also came to India
At that time, a French contingent of 56 personnel from the 35th Infantry Regiment of the 7th Armored Brigade had arrived in India. The soldiers of his regiment were stationed in India between 1781 and 1784. The first pipe and drum corps consisted of 48 musicians. India may also send a contingent from units that have a history of fighting on French territory during the world wars fought in the last century.
