PM Modi US Visit: The White House has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his US visit. The White House has said that the US has an important defense partnership with India and there is excellent cooperation within the Quad. The comments were made Monday by John Kirby, coordinator of strategic communications on the National Security Council at the White House.
Kirby said in response to a question that as you know America has an important defense partnership with India and India has great cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region within the Quad… We look forward to the visit. Explain that the quad includes Japan, India, Australia and America. In 2017, the four countries established the Quad to counter China’s aggressive behavior in the Indo-Pacific region.
Modi ready to create history with second US Congress address
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will become the third leader of India to make a state visit to the US. PM Modi will go on his first state visit to the US from June 21 to June 24 at the invitation of President Joe Biden and Jill Biden. The US President and the First Lady will host PM Modi during his four-day visit.
The last two state visits were by former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan in June 1963 and by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in November 2009. Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Monday said that PM Modi will become the only Indian Prime Minister to address the joint session of the US Congress twice. The Prime Minister had earlier addressed the US Congress in 2016.
