Modi In France: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today attended the French National Day celebrations in Paris as the chief guest. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron warmly embrace as they arrive for the Bastille Day parade at the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The French National Day or Bastille Day commemorates the assault on the Bastille prison in 1789 during the French Revolution. The Bastille Day Parade is the highlight of the celebrations.
Indian military contingent marched to the tune of ‘Saare Jahan Se Accha’, while Rafale fighter jets of the Indian Air Force (IAF) took part in a flypast over the Champs-Elysées at the Bastille Day parade.
The Punjab Regiment led the march and was followed by the Indian Navy and then the Air Force in the annual parade to mark the historic fall of the Bastille in 1789.

Captain Aman Jagtap led the Punjab Regiment
The Punjab Regiment was led by Captain Aman Jagtap while the Indian Naval contingent was led by Commander Vrat Baghel. The Indian Air Force contingent was commanded by Squadron Leader Sindhu Reddy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was the chief guest at the parade, took the salute of the Indian contingent marching down the Champs-Élysées. French President Emmanuel Macron, First Lady Brigitte Macron were among the dignitaries attending the Bastille Day military parade.

French fighter jets leading the flypast left a trail of smoke in the colors of the French national flag – red, blue and white – coloring the sky over the Champs-Elysées.
Both the Indian and French armies marched with trumpets and drums. Macron received a guard of honor as he arrived ahead of the military parade.
Ahead of the parade, PM Modi and the French President warmly hugged each other when they arrived for the Bastille Day Parade at the Champs-Elysées in Paris.

Indian Navy soldiers said – this is a day of pride
The soldiers of the Indian Navy, who arrived to attend the Bastille Day parade, said that we have made a lot of preparations for today. We are proud to be participating in the Bastille Day Parade. Particularly that we are participating in the parade in front of the Prime Minister of our country.
Wing Commander Officer Disha in the Indian Navy said that I am very happy. We are proud to represent our country at the international level. He told that we will come out marching from Prime Minister Narendra.
At the same time, Captain Jagtap Logonwal of the 23rd Battalion participating in the parade said that today is a big moment for me and my platoon. We will parade after 107 years at the same place where the forefathers of our Paltan had paraded.
List of today’s program of PM Modi in France
- At around 4.30 pm Indian time, PM Modi will have lunch hosted by National Assembly Speaker Braun Pivet.
- PM Modi will meet the thinkers at around 6.15 pm Indian time.
- At around 8.30 pm, PM Modi will reach the reception at the Elysee Palace. This will be followed by delegation level talks and interaction with journalists.
- At around 10.30 pm, PM Modi will participate in the India-France CEO Forum.
- Prime Minister Modi will go to the Louvre Museum around midnight. Here PM Modi will attend the dinner. Then the President will watch the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower with Macron.
