PM Modi France UAE Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his France and United Arab Emirates (UAE) visits on Saturday, 15 July. During this, PM Modi met with French President Emmanuel Macron and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It is believed that India has strengthened bilateral relations with both the countries.
These special agreements with France
PM Modi’s presence as the chief guest at France’s Bastille Day parade has indicated an increasingly strong relationship between the two countries. PM Modi’s visit also marked the 25th anniversary of the India-France Strategic Partnership. During the visit, PM Modi participated in the India-France CEO Forum meeting with Macron to diversify business cooperation between the two countries.
UPI expanded to France
During the important meeting, both the countries have agreed to implement the use of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in France. Giving information about this, PM Modi said that in the coming days, Indian tourists from the iconic Eiffel Tower will get the facility to make payments using UPI.
Plan to buy 26 Rafale
PM Modi’s visit to France is a watershed moment in the bilateral relations between the two countries. India is planning to buy 26 Rafale M (Marine) fighter jets and three Scorpene class submarines. Notably India already operates 36 Rafale C (Air Force) variants.
