Papua New Guinea: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Papua New Guinea on Sunday from Hiroshima, Japan. PM Modi has arrived here to attend the FIPIC summit. Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, James Marape, welcomed PM Modi in the capital Port Moresby in a unique way. James Marape also touched the feet of PM Modi and took his blessings. Seeing this, PM Modi hugged James. After this, PM Modi was given the Guard of Honor at the airport itself. PM Modi is the first Prime Minister of India to reach Papua New Guinea.
According to news agency ANI, PM James Marape broke with tradition and followed PM Modi’s lead. No foreign guest is welcomed with state honors after sunset in this country.

Artists performed traditional dance in honor of PM Modi
Artists from Papua New Guinea performed a traditional dance at the port in honor of PM Modi. During this time all the Indians had also reached. PM Modi was presented a picture of his mother by the people of the Indian community.

PM Modi to meet heads of 14 island nations tomorrow
PM Modi will hold talks with Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape and the new Governor Sir Bob Dade on 22 May. After this, he will participate in the Forum for India Pacific Island Cooperation Summit (FIPIC) to be held with the leaders of Pacific Island Countries. The heads of all the 14 island nations are attending the meeting. The summit was launched during PM Modi’s visit to Fiji in 2014. These countries will have their third meeting with PM Modi.

Biden expressed his desire to get an autograph
Earlier, PM Modi attended the G-7 meeting in Hiroshima, Japan. India is not a member of G-7. But Japan’s PM Fumio Kishida had invited PM Modi as a guest. Where he met US President Joe Biden in a unique way. Biden called PM Modi a popular leader and also hugged him. Biden also expressed his desire to get his autograph from PM Modi.
