Pakistan Powercut: New trouble was seen on Monday in Pakistan, which is facing flour and economic crisis. Several major cities of Pakistan were seen facing power outages for hours due to fault in transmission lines. K-Electric spokesperson Imran Rana said in a Twitter post, “Reports of power failure are pouring in from various parts of the city. We are probing the matter and will inform soon.”

Pakistan’s Geo News reported that there was no electricity in many areas of Karachi and Lahore. Pakistani journalist Asad Ali Toor tweeted, “#BREAKING: There is a power failure across Pakistan since 7:30 am.”

No electricity in 22 districts of Balochistan including Quetta
According to the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), two transmission lines from Guddu to Quetta were snapped. Geo News reported that the company said that there is no electricity in 22 districts of Balochistan, including Quetta.
Pakistan this month announced a new energy conservation plan as its fragile economy grapples with a host of challenges, including the country’s foreign exchange reserves falling to dangerously low levels.
Earlier in October last year, Pakistan experienced a major power crisis. During that time large parts of the country including Karachi and Lahore were without power for more than 12 hours.
