Deputy Superintendent of Police Irfan Khan said that late on Monday night, the terrorists started firing indiscriminately on the security personnel deployed at MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company’s Manji Khel plant. The soldiers fought the terrorists for two hours. Four soldiers of the Frontier Constabulary and two of the security company were killed in the attack. The terrorists managed to escape by taking advantage of the darkness of the night. The bodies of the jawans have been kept at the Combined Military Hospital.

TTP held responsible

Asif blamed the terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for the attack. However, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. He said the attackers came from the nearby North Waziristan district, which borders Afghanistan and has historically been a hotbed of insurgency.
