Pakistan News: Imran Khan, former PM of Pakistan and President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party, has suffered a major setback. On Wednesday, Fawad Chaudhary, who was a cabinet minister in his government, left Imran. Fawad announced his resignation from PTI by tweeting. He wrote in his tweet that I have categorically condemned the incidents of May 9. Now I have decided to take a break from politics. That’s why I have resigned from the post of the party and am separating from Imran Khan.
Till now these leaders left the party
Fawad Choudhary has joined the list of PTI leaders who have announced to quit PTI after nationwide sabotage and violent protests on 9th May. So far many others including Dr. Shireen Mazari, Faiyazul Hasan Chauhan, Malik Amin Aslam, Mehmood Maulvi, Aamir Kayani, Jai Prakash, Aftab Siddiqui and Sanjay Gangwani have left Imran Khan’s party.
According to the Islamabad Police, Fawad Chaudhary was arrested along with other party leaders on charges of inciting people to violence and arson. He was later released by the Islamabad High Court.

The mob attacked the army headquarters
On May 9, PTI chief Imran Khan was arrested by security forces from the Islamabad High Court. After this, violence erupted across the country. For the first time in Pakistan’s history, protesters stormed the army headquarters in Rawalpindi and set fire to a corps commander’s house in Lahore. However, later the Supreme Court released Imran Khan.
Pak government clamps down on PTI
After the violence, the Pakistan government labeled PTI supporters as terrorists and ordered them to be treated as such. Many leaders of Imran Khan’s party were arrested.
