Padma Awards 2023: The Padma Awards have been announced on the eve of Republic Day. It has been announced to give Padma Vibhushan award posthumously to the famous doctor of West Bengal, Dr. Dilip Mahalanabis. Apart from this, SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav has been given the Padma Vibhushan award posthumously. A total of 9 people including Kumar Mangalam Birla, Vani Jairam, Zakir Hussain, Suman Kalyanpur have been given the Padma Vibhushan award. A total of 106 personalities have been announced for Padma awards.

According to the information, Dilip Mahalnabis died in October 2022 at the age of 87 years. He worked in the field of Oral Rehydration (ORS). Apart from this, he served in refugee camps during the Bangladesh Liberation War.

Apart from this, retired government doctor of Andaman Ratan Chandra Kar has been awarded the Padma Shri in the field of Medicine (Physician). Apart from Ratan Chandra Kar, Hirabai Lobi, Munishwar Chander Davar have also been announced to be given Padma Shri. 91 more people have been selected for Padma Shri. Veteran politicians, businessmen, scientists and doctors, including actress Raveena Tandon, Subhradra Devi of Bihar, Anand Kumar of Super 30, artistes engaged in public service and common people have been given the Padma Shri award.

According to information, Naga social activist Ramkuiwangbe Newme, Kerala Gandhian V P Appukuttan Poduval, Naga musician Moa Subong have also been given Padma Shri. At the same time, 102-year-old sarinda maestro Mangala Kanti Roy from West Bengal and 98-year-old organic farmer Tula Ram Upreti will also be given the Padma Shri.
