Anantnag Target Killing: A non-Muslim youth was shot dead on Monday night in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The deceased was identified as Deepak alias Deepu. He was a resident of Udhampur district. Was working in the circus. Deepu was attacked when he had gone to buy milk. Then two youths riding a bike opened fire on him. He was taken to the hospital in an injured condition, but he was declared brought dead. The responsibility of this target killing has been taken by an organization named Kashmir Freedom Fighters. This organization works for Lashkar-e-Taiba based in Pakistan.

Deepu was the only earning member of his family. He was working as a circus show while living in Jangalghat Mandi area. There has been chaos in the family since his murder. Deepu’s brother said that he was the sole breadwinner of the family. My eyes are bad for the last four years. My father is blind, he cannot work. We want justice. What was our fault? We are completely ruined.

Omar Abdullah Condemns Tagaret Killing
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed grief over the murder. He tweeted and wrote that I am hurt by the news of another targeted attack against a civilian in Anantnag area of South Kashmir. The killing of Deepak who worked with a circus for an honest living is disgusting. I strongly condemn this terrorist attack. May Deepak’s soul rest in peace.
