The attackers were inspired by ISIS
The NIA had registered a case in this case on 27 October 2022. According to the NIA, the accused Jemisha Mubeen had planned to carry out a suicide attack after taking an ‘oath’ from the ISIS. His intention was to spread panic among the people. He was planning to cause widespread damage to symbols and monuments of a particular religious faith.
wanted to explode like sri lanka
The NIA, in its chargesheet, claimed that a pen drive was recovered from accused Mohd Asrutheen, which had a video recording of Jameesha identifying herself as a member of Daulat-e-Islamia. Mubeen spoke at length about his intention to carry out a suicide terror attack against ‘kafirs’ (infidels) and be martyred. Mubeen was inspired by Maulvi Zahran bin Hashim, the mastermind of the Sri Lanka bombings on April 21, 2019. More than 260 people were killed in this bomb blast and he was planning to carry out similar attacks in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
This is how the explosion was executed
The NIA said that Thalha had used a blue Maruti 800 car for the blast. While Firoz, Riyas and Navas loaded explosives and gas cylinders in the car. Asruthin and Afsar, two cousins of Mubeen, had procured, weighed, mixed and packed the chemical components used in the making of the IED used in the attack.
