New Vande Bharat ExpressUnion Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Danve has informed a delegation of MLAs from Maharashtra that a Vande Bharat Semi-High Speed Express train will soon be operational on the Mumbai-Goa route. This information has been shared by Niranjan Davkhare, a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council representing the Konkan Graduates’ constituency.
A delegation of legislators met Danve on Friday, said a release by Davkhare. During the meeting, the Union Minister informed the group that Vande Bharat Express train will be operated between Mumbai and Goa.
Mumbai-Goa train route information
Danve said that this express train will be operated between Mumbai and Goa on the lines of the recently introduced trains on Mumbai-Shirdi and Mumbai-Solapur routes. The minister informed the delegation that electrification of Mumbai-Goa rail route has been completed and new train service will be started after inspection.
The delegation also discussed several issues related to Railways in Thane and Konkan region with the Minister during the meeting.
Issues such as allotment of stalls to the railway project affected persons or their relatives, mobile stalls at each railway station for farmers, raising the height of platforms, measures to prevent flooding due to railway bridges were in the communique.
The legislators also demanded that Thane’s Mumbra station be renamed as Mumbra Devi station. Danve assured them that action would be taken after the state government submitted a proposal to this effect.
