Air service started between Delhi and Kangra, Jyotiraditya Scindia said – there will be 200 airports in the country within 4 years

New Delhi: Air service started on Sunday from Delhi to Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. Union Ministers Anurag Thakur, VK Singh virtually flagged off the Indigo aircraft. This flight will reach Kangra airport every day from Delhi at 8:25 am and return to Delhi at 8:50 am.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that what has not happened in the last 9 years in the field of aviation has happened in the last 9 years. Presently the number of airports has increased from 74 to 140. The number of airports will increase to 200 within the next three to four years.

Ministry working on two phase plan

Scindia said these things while inaugurating the first Delhi-Dharamshala-Delhi Indigo flight. He said that the ministry is working on a two-phase plan. The first phase involves lengthening the existing runway to 1900 meters to enable turboprop aircraft with load penalties to operate without any penalty. The second phase will involve further lengthening of the runway to 3110 meters to realize the vision of the airport being able to land Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.

Anurag Thakur said – Now even a man sits in an aeroplane.

Minister Anurag Thakur said that due to PM Modi, now the common man is also sitting in the aeroplane. Earlier he could only see the ship flying. He said that Kangra airport provides easy connectivity to five districts. This will benefit half the population of Himachal.

VK Singh said – service started in Kangra three decades ago

Union Minister of State VK Singh said that the first flight started in 1990 at Kangra Airport. Now its runway is 1376 meters. This runway can be extended further in future.
