Air India Flight: A person of Nepal origin created a ruckus in an Air India flight coming from Toronto to New Delhi from Canada. According to the allegation, the Nepalese man manhandled the crew members. After this, the door of the toilet in the flight was also broken. Registering an FIR in the matter, the Delhi Police has arrested the accused. Nothing has been clarified regarding when the incident took place.
According to the FIR, the accused who created ruckus on the Air India flight has been identified as Mahesh Pandit. It is alleged that he changed his seat and manhandled the crew members and also abused them. An FIR was lodged in this matter on behalf of the victim cabin supervisor Aditya Kumar.
Accused caught with cigarette-lighter inside toilet
According to news agency ANI, Aditya Kumar told in the FIR that Mahesh Pandit was caught inside the toilet with a cigarette and a lighter after a smoke alert was issued. Aditya told that when I opened the door in front of the passenger, he pushed me back and ran to his seat 26F. When I tried to stop him, he pushed me and also abused me.
Kumar stated that the accused broke the LAV door 3F-RC. Then I immediately informed the Captain and as per his instructions with the help of Cabin Crew Member Puneet Sharma and other passengers were able to apprehend the accused as per SOP.
Delhi Police registered a case under these sections
Delhi Police has registered a case under section 323/506/336 of the Indian Penal Code and 22,23,25 of the Aircraft Rules at IGI Police Station against Nepali civilian passenger Mahesh Pandit and further investigation is underway.
In the last few months, there have been several incidents of misbehavior in flights by passengers. On November 26 last year, Shankar Mishra, in an inebriated state, urinated on an elderly woman on a New York-Delhi Air India flight. Mishra was arrested in the case, however, he was released on bail after spending almost a month in jail.
