India Against Terror: Modi government praised in American report, said- India’s action against terror is excellent

India Against Terror: In the American report, the steps taken by the Government of India regarding the action against terrorism have been highly praised. According to the US Bureau of Counterterrorism’s ‘Country Reports on Terrorism 2021: India’, the Indian government has made significant efforts to detect, disrupt and eliminate the operations of terrorist organizations.

The report by the US Bureau of Counterterrorism states that terrorism in 2021 affected the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), northeastern states and parts of central India. The report states that Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen, ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen and Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen are terrorist groups operating in Bangladesh, India.

Revealed in the report – seen a change in the strategy of the terrorists

The report said that 2021 saw a change in the strategy of terrorists. They also moved toward attacks on civilians and a greater reliance on IEDs, including an explosive attack using drones on an Air Force base.

According to the ‘Country Report on Terrorism 2021: India’ report, India responds promptly to US requests for information related to terrorism investigations. US makes efforts to reduce threats in response to information. The report said that in 2021, there were 153 terrorist attacks in India’s Jammu and Kashmir. 274 people were killed in these attacks which included 45 security personnel, 36 civilians and 193 terrorists.

There is also mention of the November 1 attack in Manipur.

Other attacks include an attack in Manipur on 1 November, in an ambush by the People’s Liberation Army of Manipur and the Naga People’s Front, which killed seven people, including an Indian Army officer and his wife and minor son.

According to official reports, India has implemented biographic and biometric screening during entry to port security using watchlists. Government of India is implementing dual screen X-ray for cargo screening at the airport. The report said that India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has investigated 37 cases related to Gage till September 2021 and arrested 168 people.
