Meghalaya Election Result 2023 Live Updates: Counting of votes is on for 59 out of 60 seats in Meghalaya. The initial trends are expected within a few hours after the counting of votes begins. By afternoon the picture will be clear that whose government will be formed in the state or there will be a hung assembly in the state. Let us tell you that the voting for 59 assembly seats of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly was held on February 27 and 85.17 percent polling was recorded.

The Election Commission has set up 13 counting centers for the counting of votes and adequate security measures have been taken across the state. The security of all EVM strong rooms has been strengthened with three levels of security. Voting was not held in the Sohyeong assembly constituency in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district following the death of United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate H. Donkupar Roy Lyngdoh.

13 vote counting centers set up across the state

All necessary arrangements have been made before the counting of votes in Meghalaya. 13 counting centers have been set up across the state. 22 companies of CAPFs have been deployed to ensure law and order. Section 144 has been imposed in East West Khasi Hills district ahead of the election results. The prohibitory orders will remain in force till the election process is over.

According to exit polls, NPP is expected to get 18 to 24 seats. The United Democratic Party (UDP) is projected to come second with eight to 12 seats. Whereas, the Congress is likely to win between six and 12 seats. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) is expected to get five to nine seats. The BJP is expected to improve its tally by more than two seats in 2018.
