Malaysia Masters 2023: Indian star shuttler HS Prannoy has reached the final of Malaysia Masters 2023. His opponent in the semi-finals, Cristian Adinata of Indonesia, had to retire due to an unfortunate injury. Prannoy was leading in the first set, but Christian Adinata suffered an injury midway through the game and retired. The Indian shuttler entered the final of this tournament for the first time in his career.

Meanwhile, two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu crashed out in the semi-finals after losing 14-21, 17-21 to Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska T. This was Sindhu’s second loss in a row after winning seven matches against Gregoria.

HS Prannoy on Friday entered the semi-finals of the Malaysia Masters 2023 after defeating Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto in the men’s singles quarter-finals in Kuala Lumpur. Prannoy came back brilliantly to win the match 25-23, 18-21, 21-13 in a marathon encounter that lasted 91 minutes.

In the final, Prannoy will take on the winner of the semi-final match between Lin Chun-Yi of Chinese Taipei and Wang Hong Yang of People’s Republic of China on Sunday.
