The MLA denied the accused in his resignation
The BJP MLA in his resignation has denied the allegations leveled against him. He has written that I have nothing to do with the Lokayukta raid. This is a conspiracy against me and my family. At the same time, according to Lokayukta officials, on Thursday morning a person had filed a complaint against Prashant alleging that he had taken bribe. Thereafter, the Lokayukta officials laid a trap and caught Prashant red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 40 lakh.
A Lokayukta official said, “We searched his office and found Rs 1.7 crore. We suspect that Prashant was taking bribe on behalf of his father. We are probing the source of the money found in his office.” On the other hand, after the matter came to the fore, the Congress launched a scathing attack on the BJP, calling it a ‘corrupt Janata Party’.
Congress leader Randeep Surjewala tweeted that the stench of 40 Percent Sarkara’s corruption has also polluted the fragrance of Mysore Sandal soap. In a first, KSDL Chairman-BJP MLA Virupakshappa’s son was caught taking a bribe of ₹40 lakh and within 24 hours ₹6,00,00,000 in cash was recovered from the house.
