IS Commanders Killed: Taliban security forces killed two prominent commanders of the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS) during an anti-terrorist operation in the capital Kabul. The Taliban government said that this operation was carried out in the past.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that one of the slain terrorists was Qari Fateh, who was the Islamic State’s intelligence chief. The other terrorist was the military chief of the Islamic State-Khorasan Province (ISKP). Explain that ISKP is an ally of the Islamic State and an opponent of the Taliban.
Qari Fateh was the main strategist of ISKP
Mujahid said Qari Fateh was reportedly ISKP’s chief strategist. Qari Fateh was responsible for planning several attacks against the Russian, Pakistani and Chinese diplomatic missions in Kabul.
Mujahid also confirmed the killing of Ejaz Ahmed Ahangar, the so-called first emir of the Islamic State Hind Province (ISHP) and a senior ISKP leader in southern Afghanistan, along with two aides.
Ahangar was declared a terrorist by the Government of India in January.
Ahangar, popularly known as Abu Usman al-Kashmiri, was declared a terrorist by the Indian government in January this year. Born in Srinagar, Ahangar was wanted in Jammu and Kashmir for over two decades for his alleged involvement in terrorism-related activities.
Afghan intelligence identified Ahangar as the mastermind of the March 2020 suicide bombing that claimed the lives of a security guard and 24 worshipers at Gurdwara Kart-e Parwan in Kabul. He reportedly had links with Al-Qaeda and other global terrorist organizations.
