This time five new rules will be applicable in IPL 2023. If DRS can be used for wide and no-ball, then the impact player rule will also apply. Through this, an additional player can be brought in as a replacement for bowling or batting in the middle of the match. On field penalty has also been implemented for slow over rate. If a team does not bowl its overs in the stipulated time, only four fielders will be allowed outside the 30 yards during each over instead of five. After the toss, the playing-11 will be selected, then the rule of deadball and five penalty runs will apply.
