IND W vs ENG W: Team India’s defeat despite Renuka Singh’s brilliant bowling, this batsman played like ODI

New Delhi: In the match played between India and England on Saturday under the Women’s T20 World Cup, Team India had to face defeat despite the excellent bowling of Renuka Singh. Opting to bat first, Renuka Singh took 5 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs against the English team. However, on the middle order, English batsman Nat Brunt scored 50, captain Heather Knight 28 and wicketkeeper Amy Jones scored 40 runs to reach the team’s score of 151 runs in 20 overs.

Team India could not cross the target of 152 runs

Chasing the target of 152 runs, Team India’s batsmen lost their sweat. The Indian batsmen batted so slowly as if they were playing an ODI. Team India scored 62 runs losing 3 wickets in 10.2 overs. In the last over, the Indian team needed 31 runs, but only 17 runs could be scored and Team India lost the match by 11 runs.

Richa Ghosh tried to win

Captain Smriti Mandhana scored 52 runs in 41 balls hitting 7 fours-1 six, while Shefali Verma was dismissed after scoring 8 runs in 11 balls. Jemima Rodrigues scored 13 runs in 16 balls and Deepti Sharma scored 7 runs in 9 balls. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur got out after scoring 4 runs in 6 balls. Although wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh, who landed at number five, tried hard to win Team India, but she could only score 17 runs in the last over with Pooja Vastrakar. Ghosh scored 47 not out in 34 balls hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes. After this defeat, Team India, present in Group B in the points table, has reached the second position with 4 points, while the English team is at the top with 6 points. Team India’s next match will be against Ireland on 20 February.
