IND vs IRE: The Indian cricket team is currently on a tour of West Indies to play T20, ODI and Test series. As per the schedule, it will end on August 13. After this, the Indian team has to play 5 T20 matches against Ireland. While many veteran players of the team will not be present on this tour, according to reports, coach Rahul Dravid will also be rested.

VVS Laxman will be the head coach

According to a report in Cricbuzz, Rahul Dravid and his team of support staff may be rested from the series against Ireland. The National Cricket Academy team would temporarily replace him during that series. The report states that the current NCA chief and former India star batsman VVS Laxman will take over from his former teammate.

Apart from this, the role of batting coach will be taken by either Sitanshu Kotak or Hrishikesh Kanitkar, while Troy Cooley or Sairaj Bahutule will become the interim bowling coach of the Indian team.

Golden opportunity near VVS Laxman

VVS Laxman was also in the role of India’s coach on the 2023 Ireland tour. He also took over as Rahul Dravid’s replacement for the T20I series against New Zealand in November 2022, when Dravid was rested. This will be a great opportunity for Laxman to showcase his coaching potential as Dravid’s contract is set to expire after the ODI World Cup.
