New Delhi: There are many interesting scenes in cricket and when it comes to Tests, there is something new to see every day. A similar scene was seen on the third day of the ongoing fourth Test between India and Australia. Captain Rohit Sharma and spinner Ravindra Jadeja took such a review, which even the umpires were stunned. This view was seen in the 128th over of the Australian innings.
Umpire gave not out
When Jadeja bowled the last ball of this over, the ball spun from the off side and hit Khawaja’s pad. As soon as the ball hit the pad, the team including Jadeja started appealing for ABW. Though the umpire declared Khawaja not out, Jadeja persuaded Rohit to review.

The ball was too far from the stump
It was seen in the review that the ball was going far away from the off stump. As soon as the third umpire saw it, he did not take any time to give Khwaja not out. Eventually he instructed ground umpire Richard Kettleborough to give him a not out. He was also seen smiling when third umpire Jayaraman Madangopal asked him to retain the decision of not out. Team India players including Rohit and Jadeja also smiled seeing this scene.
Even in the commentary box, Ravi Shastri, Matthew Hayden and Dinesh Karthik discussed this bad review. Karthik said- “They wanted to check whether the third umpire was awake.” India may not have gained anything from that review, but a few overs later, Ashwin dismissed Green for 114 to break a big partnership.
