Holi Ban In PAK: Universities of Pakistan (HEC) Holi Celebrating has been banned. The HEC order comes days after Quaid-e-Azam University students celebrated Holi on the campus on June 12 and videos of the incident went viral.

In a notice, the commission said that in order to adhere to the socio-cultural values, students have been prohibited from observing the festival. The notice states that such activities completely detract from the country’s socio-cultural values ​​and harm the country’s Islamic identity.

The commission said – damage to the image of the country

In an apparent reference to the Holi celebrations at Quaid-e-Azam University, the commission said, “This widely reported/publicized incident from the platform of the university has caused concern and damaged the image of the country.”

Advising the students to keep themselves away from such events, the commission said, “It is advisable to desist from all such activities which are clearly incompatible with the country’s identity and social values.”

Videos of Holi celebrations went viral in early June

Earlier this month, videos of Holi celebrations at Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad went viral. In the video, students were seen playing Holi with colors in the college campus and enjoying the celebrations. The report added that the event was organized by the Mehran Students’ Council, a non-political cultural organization of the university.

In March, at least 15 Hindu students were injured after members of a radical Islamic student organization prevented them from celebrating Holi on the Panjab University campus.
