Doctor Shot Dead In Karachi: Another Hindu doctor has been shot dead in Pakistan. The Hindu doctor’s assistant was injured in the incident. According to Pakistani media reports, retired director of Karachi Municipal Corporation and ophthalmologist Dr. Birbal Jenani was shot dead near Lyari Expressway. His assistant doctor Qurat-ul-Ain was injured in the attack.

It is being told that armed assailants opened fire on the doctor’s car and killed him while he was coming out of his private clinic in Garden area of ​​the city on Thursday evening. The entire incident has been captured in the CCTV camera installed on the spot. On the basis of CCTV footage, it is suspected to be a case of target killing.

There were two abuses on the doctor’s head

Police said that Dr. Birbal had two bullets in his head. By the time Dr. Birbal was brought to the hospital at 6:46 pm, he had already died. On the other hand, Dr. Birbal’s colleague Dr. Kurutulain has been shot in the shoulder, but his condition is out of danger.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Police Irfan Ali Baloch said the incident appears to be a targeted killing but the exact motive is yet to be ascertained. At the same time, SSP Arif Aziz told that Dr. Birbal used to drop his assistant home daily. The injured are being questioned in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Shoro, Secretary General of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), has demanded an impartial probe into the incident. Condemning the incident, he said that Dr Birbal had worked as Medical Superintendent of Spencer Eye Hospital in Lyari and Director of Health Services of KMC.

Second case of attack on Hindu doctor in 30 days

This is the second case of attack on a Hindu doctor in Pakistan this month. Earlier this month, Dr Dharam Dev Rathi from Hyderabad, Pakistan was allegedly killed by his driver inside his house. Police told Pakistani news outlet The Nation that the driver had slit the doctor’s throat with a knife.

Police arrested the driver of Dharam Dev Rathi from his house in Khairpur and identified him as Hanif Leghari. The doctor’s cook told the police that on the way home, both of them had an altercation. After reaching home, the driver allegedly took a knife from the kitchen and killed the doctor in his own house.
