Parkash Singh Badal Passes Away: Former Punjab chief minister and Shiromani Akali Dal patriarch S Parkash Singh Badal passed away on Tuesday at the age of 95. This was confirmed by party president Sukhbir Singh Badal. Earlier on Monday, it was reported that he is under strict observation in the ICU of Fortis Hospital in Mohali.

According to the party, Badal was admitted to the ICU on April 21 after he complained of breathlessness.
Parkash Singh Badal was the Chief Minister of Punjab from 1970–1971, 1977–1980, 1997–2002 and 2007–2017.
He was also the youngest Chief Minister to hold the position in the state of Punjab.

Prakash Singh Badal’s health suddenly deteriorated last Friday morning. He was then taken to the hospital in Mohali, where he breathed his last on Tuesday evening. Parkash Singh Badal contested the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections. But he was defeated. The country’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed grief over his demise.
