New Delhi: Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik has fiercely surrounded the Modi government at the Center for withdrawing his Z Plus security. Talking to NDTV, he said that if anything happens to him, the Center will be responsible for it. I have been punished for opposing the government.
In August 2019, the central government, when Satyapal Malik was the governor, had given special status to Jammu and Kashmir and divided it into two union territories.
I can be attacked anytime
Satya Pal Malik said that it has been learned from the police headquarters that he will no longer get the security of elite commandos under the Z+ bracket, which is the best security cover for a leader in India.
He told that I have just been given a PSO, which has not come for the last three days. Anyone can attack me.
Security with previous governors
Malik said that all the previous governors of Jammu and Kashmir had good security cover. If anything happens to me, the central government will be responsible for it. When I was the governor, I dissolved the assembly only in Jammu and Kashmir. Article 370 (under the Constitution) was removed during my tenure.
Malik often surrounds the government
Actually, Satyapal Malik often opposes the policies of the Central Government. He fiercely opposed the government against the agricultural laws and openly supported the farmers. He had alleged that he was offered Rs 300 crore to clear two files in Jammu and Kashmir. The CBI is probing the matter.
Malik had alleged corruption in the award of a contract for a group medical insurance scheme for government employees and a civil work worth Rs 2,200 crore involving the Kiru hydroelectric project in Jammu and Kashmir.
The CBI in its First Information Report (FIR) has named Reliance General Insurance and Trinity Re-insurance brokers as accused. In another case, the CBI is probing alleged violation of e-tender rules.

Malik was appointed as the governor of Bihar in 2017. He was made the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in 2018, Goa in 2019 and Meghalaya in 2020.
