Amarnath Yatra 2023: The Amarnath Yatra is starting from July 1. Registration is mandatory before going on the trip. But the thugs have made a dent in the registration as well. This was disclosed by the District Administration Samba in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. 68 pilgrims from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh were duped.
Cheating revealed during verification
According to the administration, two buses carrying 68 pilgrims from Muzaffarnagar reached Shri Chichi Mata Temple on Thursday for e-KYC verification and issue of RFID cards. The verification was done by the e-KYC team of District Samba under the leadership of District Informatics Officer. It was found that the travel permits of most of the pilgrims had been tampered with. Pilgrims and drivers were questioned. It was learned that these passengers had got permits from Muzaffarnagar resident Rahul Bhardwaj, an agent of Vikas bus service operating from Muzaffarnagar. For this, 7-7 thousand rupees were collected from each person.
